Ooh la! iTunes loves us!
Well now there’s a treat for a novice podcaster! iTunes has included The Rosie View in their New and Notable section. Yes I know we’re on their third page. Yes I know it’s in a sub-category. Let me enjoy the little pleasures in life.
I also thought you might be interested to know how many listeners we are picking up after just six shows and some other statistics. We have 15 subscribers, 9 of whom are using iTunes, 2 of whom are email subscribers so it pays to offer lots of options. Since we started tracking in July we have had 162 unique visitors (hello!) with nearly 1/4 of traffic coming from Twitter. Sorry to disappoint the person searching for the “garda helicopter” but I think the person searching for “historical intellectual giants” was probably the most disappointed!
How do I know all of this? Google Analytics and Feedburner.
Why am I telling you all of this? Well part of my motivation for podcasting was because it was one aspect of social media that I hadn’t tried myself. An essential part of any experiment is sharing the results and as you, dear readers and listeners, are for all intents and purposes, participating, it’s only fair to share.
