Welcome to the first ever episode of The Rosie View. This is a television review podcast put together by me, Roseanne Smith, and my cousin, Rosemary Mac Cabe. I’ll edit this post tomorrow to add show notes but in this episode we review The Dollhouse, a documentary entitled 100 Years of Youth Hostelling, Psychoville and House. We also reveal what we are going to review in the next episode.

doing my homework in advance of appearing on the show, so listened to episode 1 on my morning walk today. Really enjoyed it. Particularly liked your review of House. I just finished Season 3 on DVD, and I really enjoy it. I agree that it is somewhat forumalic, however there is a series of stories woven in to each season that add the extra spice, and make it worth following.

Hey Frank,
Thanks for listening to the show. I’m glad you enjoyed it and our review of House. I’ve been recording it and getting more stuck into it and yet more critical since that review. I’m finding the “will they, won’t they” to-ing and fro-ing between House and Cutty really tiresome. I actually think there is no chemistry being created by the two actors. When Cutty is in the same room as Cameron, for goodness sake, I’d sooner imagine a romance will spark up, honestly! It’s a very poor hook to hang the continuity of the series on. Foreman and Thirteen show some promise although my biggest problem is the same that I have with many US shows: obsession with characters self-analysing all the time and the formulaic stories and arcs don’t cut it. I know, I know it’s a different genre to the likes of Six Feet Under, The Wire, Sopranos etc. but even say, Ugly Betty throws a few googlies every once in while (that’s an appalling metaphor for a US show but it’s The Ashes today….:) )
Looking forward to having you on the show!
